The place is still flooded at about 3 to 4 feet deep even 5 days after super typhoon Ondoy left. The newly completed drainage system along Mercedes Avenue didn’t and wouldn’t work in extreme cases like this. It will take several weeks before the water subsides which means that the Ametta Place vicinity is a catch basin. It’s pretty obvious that the solutions to this perennial problem is not only an excellent drainage system, but more on increasing the road elevation by more than 1 meter from the current ground. Please comment on this.
