Megaworld Trumped by Donald Trump

Megaworld Corporation, one of the giants in Philippine real estate, changed the name of a condominium project after New York tycoon Donald Trump threatened to take legal action against the company. The 5.5 billion-peso (USD 133.4M) condominium project was formerly called “The Trumps”, a move that outraged the billionaire.
Trump was furious that Megaworld would make an “outrageous attempt to mislead buyers into thinking that my name and company is affiliated with their project.”
Megaworld, on the other hand, claimed that they changed the project name from “The Trumps” to “One Central” to reflect their location at the heart of the central business district. According to a newspaper interview, Megaworld said that they are “by no means relinquishing our right to use The Trumps name in any of our real estate projects in the Philippines.”
